Gifted Services Parent Book Study
A seven week guided discussion group focusing on gifted children, facilitated by trained district teachers and Gifted Services Coordinators, takes place twice each year. This class assists parents in gaining a better understanding of their gifted children and provides tools to work with them more effectively. Session topics include: identification, motivation, underachievement, perfectionism, discipline, stress, depression, communication, relationships, sensitivity, independence, and uniqueness.
Feedback from the previous discussion group:
"Educational, Therapeutic, Compassionate. This group could not have come at a better time for our family, and we've been able to apply what we've learned toward some real results. Thank you all so much!!" Pedro Caceres
"It was so reassuring to meet other parents who were facing the same challenges as us. I loved the opportunity to hear about other children like my son and learn about different ways to support them." Jill Caceres
"It was such an empowering experience to connect with other parents with 2e kids and to share our common struggles and victories. I came away with a lot of new knowledge and fresh ideas to help my child and the whole family." Anonymous
"This group has been an incredible resource and a wonderful source of support for me. I can't thank St. Vrain, and GT Services enough for putting this group together. It has been a wonderful experience that I will never forget! Karyn Sullivan
